Mommies on the RUN!

Today I ran my FIRST 5K. For many that probably isn't a big deal but I was so proud that I ran 3.1 miles without stopping to rest or walk. I've NEVER done that! I finished last of my friends but oh well. My goal was to just run the whole thing regardless of the time. It was a very fun atmosphere! The boys had fun jumping in the bounce houses and eating funnel cakes, corn dogs, and creamsicles. I was so thankful that David & the boys and Bethany's husband and boys came to cheer us on.
Before the race began

Doing our stretches that our great physical therapist, Kacy told us to do! Kacy is tickled about something. Maybe she was just amped up from the jelly belly sport beans we ate for energy! :-) There were sooooo many people there! I was so thankful for the people along the roads cheering us on. At first I thought "what are these people doing?" but once they started saying "you're halfway there...keep it're doing great...only 1 turn left and you can see the finish line."

Jessica finished strong FIRST of the four of us! Yay Jess!!!

Bethany crossed the finish line a couple minutes later!

She said she was determined to beat the stroller dad. Go Bethany!!!

Kacy finished next with the same goal as me to run the entire 3.1 miles!

Yay Kacy you did it!

And bringing up the I come!

Next we are going to train for a 10K then for a half-marathon in December at Dallas. So thankful for these friends!!! I never could've stuck to it without them!

  1. I'm so proud of y'all!!! You make it look so fun I ALMOST want to start running. ha!
Y'all are going to be so skinny with all that running!

  2. I'm so proud of us!

But seriously, you would think I'd at least lose one pound after all this running, but no. Lol.

  3. Woot Woot!!! That is awesome! And it gives a kick in the butt to other mamas who might want to try running too. :-)
